Anyone who has read my book Heal from Within knows that I have had more than my share of experiences with a dysfunctional family. It didn’t happen overnight, but I learned to separate myself emotionally (and in many cases physically) from the people whose words and actions were causing me and my family to feel uncomfortable, stressed and unhappy.
