Flourish and Grow

A Monthly Newsletter for Inspiration, Information, and Wellness by Katie Beecher, LPC, Medical & Spiritual Intuitive

A Note from Katie

October is a season of transition as we shorter days, colder weather, and often, more stress on our minds and bodies. It’s also a time when our intuition can feel especially alive if we take care to listen.

In this month’s newsletter, I’m sharing thoughts on healing from Lyme, practical immune-strengthening tips, a spotlight on DHEA, and reflections on empathy and perspective, because caring for your health isn’t just physical, it’s emotional and spiritual too.

I hope you find something here that inspires and supports you.

xoxo,

Katie

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) and Emotional Health

The darker months can intensify symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder, especially for those who are empathic, neurodivergent, or managing hormonal and health challenges. Watch this video of me to learn more!

Some helpful tools:

  • Light therapy first thing in the morning

  • 24-hour cortisol testing and support for high/low levels

  • Blood sugar maintenance

  • Protein-rich meals for brain chemistry balance

  • Connection to your intuition for deeper resilience

Why Antibiotics Often Don’t Heal Lyme and Co-Infections

I know from personal experience because I fully healed from Lyme, co-infections, and mold, without antibiotics. My healing approach was individualized and holistic, not “one-size-fits-all.”

Here’s why antibiotics often don’t resolve Lyme:

  1. Stealthy bacteria can “hide” in different forms

  2. Lyme evades the immune system

  3. Protective biofilms block antibiotics

  4. Lyme burrows into tissue, out of antibiotic reach

  5. Ticks often carry other infections antibiotics don’t address

  6. Delayed treatment lets Lyme switch into survival mode

I describe my journey in detail in my book Heal From Within and guide people through personalized healing in my intuitive readings

Naturally Strengthening Your Immune System

Taking control of your health is empowering, especially when worry about illness can quietly feed anxiety.

Here are some powerful, simple steps:

  • Eat more fruits and vegetables (antioxidants, Vitamin C, zinc)

  • Use specialized probiotics for gut and immune health

  • Move your body for stress relief + immunity

  • Supplement wisely: Vitamin D, C, zinc, elderberry, echinacea

  • Support adrenals with rhodiola, ashwagandha, ginseng. Ashwaganda should only be used on a short term basis though.

  • Rest when your body asks for it

  • Spend time in nature or with animals, especially in the sun and with non-toxic sunscreen

  • Meditate (even sitting quietly outside counts!)

  • Limit media consumption

  • GENTLE detoxes, perhaps with the help of an alternative medicine professional
  • Vote: it’s a powerful way to strengthen collective well-being

Remember: small, consistent actions can transform your health.

Supplement Spotlight: DHEA

DHEA is a hormone that naturally declines after age 30 and can be tested by your doctor. It has been shown to help with:

  • Muscle tone

  • Energy and adrenal support

  • Hormone balance and production of hormones you may be deficient in, including testosterone

  • Memory and mood

  • Bone strength

Dosage matters:

  • Women: usually 5–10 mg/day

  • Men:  25-50 mg/day

  • Start low! Too much can lead to side effects like acne, insomnia, hair changes, or mood disturbance.

* Work with me to get high quality, individualized supplement recommendations and 20% off of retail prices. Many brands and options available, including natural hormone replacement.

Personally, I’ve found DHEA very supportive for energy and muscle tone.

A Roadmap to Your Intuition:Goop Feature

I was honored to contribute to Goop with an article called A Roadmap to Your Intuition.”

In it, I share how each of us can learn to recognize, trust, and strengthen our inner wisdom. Intuition is not something only a few people are born with—it’s a natural ability we all have. The key is learning how to listen, especially when daily stress, fear, or self-doubt make it hard to hear that inner voice.

In the article, I walk through simple, practical steps for:

  • Recognizing the subtle signals of your intuition

  • Quieting outside noise so you can tune into your inner guidance

  • Using intuition to make choices in health, relationships, and everyday life

  • Building confidence in your own wisdom, even when others may not understand

This ability to connect with yourself on a deeper level is a foundation of my work with clients and a theme I return to in my book Heal from Within. When you learn to access your intuition, you open the door to healing on every level: physical, emotional, and spiritual.

Why We See the World So Differently

New research shows how our brains filter and interpret information in unique ways. That’s why two people can experience the same event and walk away with completely different realities.

“The way we see the world says as much about us as it does about reality.”
